On October 31, 2023, we gathered at the entrance of the Great Neck Plaza library at 5pm. Despite the cold weather, with the temperature at a whopping 45 degrees Fahrenheit, the plaza was filled with Trick-or-Treaters, including children, parents, the elderly, and even dogs dressed up for the occasion. As the sun had already set, we started setting up tables and arranging displays of handcrafted masks, charm bracelets, and hair clips to raise funds for our non-profit organization, HEARTIK. Some of our members interacted with the face paint set, while others stood by the displays and carried trays full of candies. We extended our arms kindly to the Trick-or-Treaters and anyone passing by, mostly children. Parents of the children stopped by the displays and showed interest in making a contribution. Each of us received a mask resembling those worn at masquerade parties, and some of our group went out into the neighborhood to collect more candies to distribute later on. Random passersby wished us a "Happy Halloween!" and one person even recorded us before continuing their group's scavenger hunt. We greatly appreciate the support and love we receive from the Great Neck community.
