About Heartik Inc.

In March 2021, Zheng (James) Zhou, an 8th-grade student at the time, along with his partners Jack Yang and others, founded Heartik Club with a strong desire to help children in the community, especially those in vulnerable situations. As the club expanded and evolved, on July 21, 2022, James and his collaborators consisting of high school students established Heartik Inc., a non-profit organization, to better meet the operational needs of their initiatives.

Heartik Inc. is dedicated to providing education and support to children in the community, with a special focus on children with special needs. We accomplish this through a diverse range of academic and extracurricular activities. Our core principle revolves around "healing hearts through art and embracing the world through science."

The Heartik Club is a Certifying Organization officially authorized by the AmeriCorps. Every September, we award the President's Volunteer Service Award to eligible volunteers who complete standard hours in a year. Volunteers can send their personal information and service forms to the club's general secretary. The club will then handle the application process for those who meet the requirements.

Heartik Inc. ensures that all donations and proceeds received are exclusively directed towards educational and charitable initiatives for children, with a specific focus on those in vulnerable situations. The organization strives to attract more individuals, particularly young people, to join in the effort of assisting children in the community and building a promising future for them.

Since its inception, Heartik Inc. has organized a diverse range of activities aimed at benefiting children in need.
These activities include crafting and selling handmade artworks, fundraising for children with special needs, and engaging in activities to support and accompany children with ASD, creating hand-painted cards to uplift children in hospitals, conducting voluntary writing workshops to assist young English learners.
These endeavors have garnered support from professionals and garnered attention from local media.

In 2003, the President’s Council on Service and Civic Participation founded the President’s Volunteer Service Award to recognize the important role of volunteers in America’s strength    and national identity. This award honors individuals whose service positively impacts communities in every corner of the nation and inspires those around them to take action, too. Led by the AmeriCorps and managed in partnership with Points of Light, this program allows Certifying Organizations to recognize their most exceptional volunteers.
