On November 10, 2023, our club's five member families participated in the community Thanksgiving turkey packaging volunteer event for special needs families. The annual “Thanksgiving turkey drive” has been a tradition of The Rotary Club of Great Neck for about 34 years. The Rotary Club purchases various food items that need to be packaged before the weekend prior to Thanksgiving, and various organizations (including churches, small charities, etc.) come to pick up the packaged items on Sunday. Our volunteers mainly helped with packaging and loading the items. The large number of residents' participation enabled the event to be completed quickly, in about an hour. At the volunteer event, we saw many familiar faces from the community, especially many students participating. This has increased the understanding and attention towards our club in the community. The strong spirit of mutual assistance in the Great Neck community strengthens our determination to contribute to the community and help special needs families!
