Our goal:
To participate in The NY Times summer writing contest https://www.nytimes.com/2023/04/27/learning/our-14th-annual-summer-reading-contest.html
To participate in other writing competitions (poetry, scientific fiction, etc.)
To help those learning English as a second language or those having difficulties with writing
What we will do:
During each meeting, members will present their writing piece to others and we will discuss it (Socratic Seminar). For those having difficulties with English in general, we will assist them more by reviewing their entire writing and pointing out any logical or grammatical errors. This will be more like a discussion rather than a tutoring session.
Specific meeting time:
Our club will begin after the NY State REGENTS Exams, thus it will start during the last week of June (June 26th ~ June 30th). We will meet once/twice per week, most likely on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Each meeting will be around 1 ~ 1.5 hours. We will be meeting on Zoom.
