Autism Awareness Run

Early on the morning of April 7th, under the beautiful spring sunshine, over 40 members of Heartik and special education families gathered at Great Neck House to participate in the Autism Awareness Run led by the Misty Mountain Runners Club. It was a truly heartwarming sight to see so many individuals coming together to support a cause that is so important to our community.

The purpose of this Run into Spring event is to increase awareness of autism during autism awareness month, and to encourage more people to join us in order to better help autistic individuals and further enhance social inclusivity. It was incredible to see the support and encouragement shown by all the participants, from the professional runners leading the way to the special needs children and student members who persevered and completed the entire run, reaching Steppingstone Park.

Despite the cool breeze by the seashore, we persisted in taking a group photo on the deck to commemorate the event. Lastly, we enjoyed a picnic and games on the grass, ending today's activities on a happy note. We are grateful for everyone who participated and showed their support for this important cause.
